Dr. Scheck has worked in the brain tumor field for over 28 years. She gained an international reputation for her studies on the use of therapeutic ketosis for the treatment of malignant brain tumors while at the Barrow Neurological Institute.
She is now focusing her efforts on the use of therapeutic ketosis to reduce side effects from treatment and increase the survival of pediatric brain tumor patients.
Together with Dr. Cynthia Wetmore, Director of the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and their colleagues at the Institute of Molecular Medicine, they are working to change the clinical course for children with cancer.
